God of Our Lifetime #3

In Isaiah 46:3, God speaks to His people with a profound assurance of His enduring care. He reminds them that from the very beginning of their existence, He has been the one who upholds and carries them. This verse invites us to reflect on the unfailing faithfulness of God in our own lives.

As I have shared, in the previous two verses, the Lord speaks about the reality of the false idols that are worshiped by many, Bel and Nebo. God speaks of how the idols are not only non-existent, but the spirit behind idolatry bows its knees to the reality and power of God the Father. After vividly describing the place of the false idols bowed down together, He contrasts himself and his ability to care for those He loves.

In the very first words of verse three, the reader hears this emphatic call from the Lord for us to listen to Him. It lets us know that what God is about to say is something that He greatly desires us to hear. Anytime God speaks to us, it is something we need to hear. His words bring encouragement, correction, and hope into our lives. Why would we seek out answers from anyone or anything else? It is good to receive advice from others, especially those who are mentors in our lives. However, the best instruction we will ever receive is from the Lord!

From the moment we were born, God has been present, guiding and supporting us. He is not a distant or passive observer but an active, loving Father who continuously sustains us. Just as He has carried the people of Israel through their journey, He carries us through our joys, struggles, and uncertainties.

In times of difficulty, it’s easy to feel alone and burdened. However, Isaiah 46:3 reassures us that we are never truly alone. God’s sustaining hand is always upon us, carrying us through every season of life. When we feel weary, we can find rest in His promise of unwavering support.
Take a moment today to thank God for His faithful care. Reflect on the times He has carried you through challenges and celebrate His constant presence in your life. Let this verse be a reminder that no matter what lies ahead, God is with you, upholding and carrying you with His everlasting love.
